Stirred and Questioning

SERMON AUDIO: Stirred and Questioning SERMON 04-09-2017
SERMON NOTES: Palm Sunday SERMON 04-09-2017 NOTES

It’s HOLY WEEK!  Starting with Palm Sunday we sing our hosannas and we journey with Jesus to His Last Supper, then His arrest, trial, and crucifixion, BUT then we wait….. we wait for the Promise – Sunday’s Coming!  Resurrection Day!  Are you ready for it?  More often then not, our posture determines what we expect from God, which determines how we hear God’s promises, which determines what we receive from God. Get you posture right and receive what God promises.  Oh, and come each Sunday and invite some friends!

SERMON NOTES: coh-sermon_helping-saskatoon-shine-01-29-2017_notes

Well, we come to the end of our New Years series called a Celebration of Hope!  If you’ve ever been frustrated at work?  Have there been people who don’t get you? Have you been bullied for your faith?  Rejected by friends because you don’t value or believe the same things?  It’s tough to suffer these things.  Is God on your side? We often start our year here at Lawson with a series entitled A Celebration of Hope.  Our desire is to do 2 things: 1) Increase your hope as you enter the New Year to anticipate God doing NEW things in your life, 2) Increase your awareness of the needs of our city and what God can do through His church to bring NEW beginnings to the people in her boundaries!  God has good news for our city!

Our series will look at our city and how we can help Saskatoon truly shine like the motto of our city suggests!

The Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Today, we have a friend from Eritrea, Africa who spent 3 years in prison for his faith.  Come and be challenged by his story.  See, when it comes to being a Christian, we in the West have very little to be afraid of, but many our sisters and brothers, in other countries around the world do.  So, the church worldwide set a date in our annual calendar to honour and pray for those who do, it’s called the Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Honour their suffering with us and check out the links below to see the reality of their suffering.

ERMON NOTES:  sorry no notes today

Today, Pastor Tyler Rody opens up Joshua chapter 1 and we were introduced to the nation of Israel as they were camping east of the Jordan river on their journey to the promised land. This summer we’re going to be getting the Camping 101 and learning to pitch the tent of our faith on the promises of God.  During the next two months we will have a few different speakers and we’ll be looking at various camping scenes in the Bible.  Join us for a fun and faith-filled summer!

PATHOS: Embracing a Passionate Faith

SERMON AUDIO: Pathos Sermon 03-20-2016
SERMON NOTES: PATHOS sermon 03-20-2016 NOTES

Pathos is a quality of an experience in life or a work of art that stirs up emotions of pity, sympathy and sorrow. Pathos can be expressed through words, pictures or even with gestures of the body. For sure there is an intellectual side of out faith.  Our faith has reason and fact and many convincing proofs to justify faith in God.  But what people really want is an experience with God not just information.  But other that feeling sorry for my sins, I don’t know what I should be feeling about my faith. Check in with us each week for a thought provoking message and an explanation for truly feeling and experiencing the living God.
